What class is right for me?

If you are interested in learning to solder and work with sterling silver, the Stacking Ring or Stone Setting Workshops are right for you. These workshops will walk you through the process of fabricating a ring, which will give you good insight to the many skillsets needed to create jewelry - sawing, texturing, forming and soldering.

If you want to test the limits of metal and get comfortable using a butane torch, the Brass Cuff Workshop is right for you. You will learn to take your brass through an annealing process to soften and flatten the metal, ultimately transforming the material.

If you are detail oriented and are drawn to intricate designs, the Earring Making Workshop is for you. This workshop focusses on sawing and texturing metal. I give you the space to create your own designs, but will provide guidance and suggestions to help you execute your vision.

If you’ve read through each of these and still can’t decide, the Intro to Jewelry Making Course may be the best choice for you! This course includes 12 hours of class time, during which you will learn to make each of the pieces in the 2 hour workshops, as well as taking it one step further to learn how to fabricate a stone setting.

do I need jewelry making experience to succeed in these classes?

Each jewelry class I offer is built for beginners - you don’t need any prior metalsmithing knowledge to be able to finish the class having made a beautiful piece. If you do have some prior knowledge/experience, that’s great too! I will help you fine tune those skills and provide space for you to create more complex and challenging pieces.

What is included in the classes?

I provide the space and all needed tools for the class. I also provide the materials needed to create indicated pieces for each workshop. If you want to customize your workshop i.e. use sterling silver instead of brass or use a stone other than the ones provided, we can discuss payment options for the materials you require. I always give the option to purchase extra materials directly from me, but I am also happy to share info on local suppliers.

How many people are in each class?

Each class is limited to 9 people.

Can I book a class for a private group?

Yes! I love working with groups of family/friends and would be happy to host your private workshop. Fill out our form on the Fleur website and we can go from there!
