Beginner & Intermediate Metalsmithing Workshops

at Fleur in Denver, CO

space to Learn and create

The heart of our teaching is hand fabrication. Our studio is full of traditional hand tools - the kind jewelers have used for centuries - and we teach you how to use them from the ground up. You will learn how to shape, saw, solder, form, carve, and cast. Each step builds real skills, and each class gives you time to practice in your own way.

Our classes welcome absolute beginners, those returning after time away, and makers who want a place to keep growing. We value education as a lifelong practice. To us, teaching is not about producing flawless results, but about helping you understand the process, feel comfortable with the tools, and discover the deep satisfaction that comes from making with your hands. Jewelry making at Fleur is as much about exploration as it is about finished pieces, and we hope you leave not only with something you created, but also with ideas and inspiration to carry forward.

Sand Casting Workshop
$275.00

In this three-hour workshop, you’ll learn the basics of sand casting and leave with a finished sterling silver signet ring. This class is perfect for those who love organic, raw styles as sand casting has a mind of its own, often leaving behind subtle imprints of sand and tiny imperfections that add to the ring’s character (we love the results!).

You’ll start by choosing from a selection of one-of-a-kind wax or metal ring models before creating a mold in sand. Once the mold is ready, you’ll work alongside an instructor to melt down scrap silver and pour it into your mold. After casting, we’ll cover filing, sanding, and polishing so you can refine your ring to your liking.

Attendees can re-cast their rings up to three times, as not every pour is successful—but that’s part of the process! This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to experiment with metalworking, and if you’ve taken a jewelry-making class with us before, it’s a great next step to build on your skills while learning something new.
